Morningside Country Club Road Runners

MCCRR

We are home to around 200 athletes of all shapes and sizes, speeds and abilities. We have been in existence for almost five years and are growing from strength to strength. 

With us you can run in groups, share tips, train hard, play some and make friends for life! We are an active club, with various activities all through the year to enhance your running experience. New members (walkers and runners) are very welcome. We have two experienced coaches assisting members to reach their full potential. They are Peter Bester who runs the track training sessions every Thursday and also does personal coaching, as well as Bobbie Buck, who assists Two Oceans participants with training programmes. Both of them are certified CGA coaches.Our distinctive blue vests can be seen at most races around the country, amongst the front runners, walkers and the back-of-the-pack guys.

We have track training every Thursday, with a 1-mile time trial on the first Thursday every month to monitor your performance. This is followed by a lucky draw for a Sportsman's Warehouse R500.00 gift voucher. We concentrate on speed training, endurance and leg strengthening. In addition, there is a 5km and 8km time trial every Wednesday and club runs of about 10km on Saturdays. Sunday club runs are announced on the notice board.  

Time Trials: Every Wednesday @ 18:00 at Morningside Country Club (please wear reflective clothing/belts). In winter, 17:30 with second group 17:45 - check club notice board.  Distance 5km or 8km.

Club Runs: Most Saturdays @ 07:00 around 10km from Morningside Country Club. For Sunday runs, check the club notice board. 

Track Training: All Thursdays @ 17:30 for 17:45 at Redhill School Sports grounds.
